1. WAS IST CETEBE® VITAMIN C RETARD 500 UND WOFÜR WIRD ES ANGEWENDET?
Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 ist ein Arzneimittel zur - Vorbeugung von Vitamin-C-Mangel, wenn die ausreichende Zufuhr durch Ernährung nicht gesichert ist, - Behandlung von Vitamin-C-Mangel-Krankheiten.
2. WAS MÜSSEN SIE VOR DER EINNAHME VON CETEBE® VITAMIN C RETARD 500 BEACHTEN? Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 darf nicht eingenommen werden: Wenn Sie überempfindlich (allergisch) gegen Ascorbinsäure (Vitamin C) oder einen der sonstigen Bestandteile von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 sind. Bei Nierensteinen aus Oxalat und bestimmten Erkrankungen, bei denen zuviel Eisen im Körper gespeichert wird (Thalassämie, Hämochromatose, sideroblastische Anämie), dürfen Sie Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 erst nach Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt einnehmen.
Besondere Vorsicht bei der Einnahme von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 ist erforderlich: Bei Patienten mit der Neigung zu Nierensteinbildung besteht bei Einnahme hoher Dosen von Vitamin C (2000–3000 mg/Tag) die Gefahr der Bildung von Calciumoxalatsteinen. Befragen Sie hierzu bitte Ihren Arzt. Bei nierengesunden Personen wird eine orale Dosis von bis zu 5000 mg/Tag für sicher gehalten. Bei der Einnahme hoher Dosen (>4000 mg/Tag) von Vitamin C wurden in Einzelfällen bei Patienten mit erythrozytärem Glucose-6-Phosphat-Dehydrogenase-Mangel (einer sehr seltenen Stoffwechselerkrankung) z.T. schwere Hämolysen beobachtet. Eine Überschreitung der angegebenen Dosisempfehlung ist daher zu vermeiden. Befragen Sie bitte hierzu Ihren Arzt. Bei Einnahme von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 mit anderen Arzneimitteln: Die Gabe von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 führt zu vermehrter Resorption von Eisen aus dem Gastrointestinaltrakt. Dies ist bei Eisensubstitution zu beachten. Bitte informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker, wenn Sie andere Arzneimittel einnehmen/anwenden bzw. vor kurzem eingenommen/angewendet haben, auch wenn es sich um nicht verschreibungspflichtige Arzneimittel handelt.
Bei Einnahme von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 zusammen mit Nahrungsmitteln und Getränken: Es sind keine Wechselwirkungen bekannt.
Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit: Die angegebenen Anwendungsmengen sollen in Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit nicht überschritten werden.

3. WIE IST CETEBE® VITAMIN C RETARD 500 EINZUNEHMEN?
Nehmen Sie Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 immer genau nach der Anweisung in dieser Packungsbeilage ein. Bitte fragen Sie bei Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker nach, wenn Sie sich nicht ganz sicher sind. Falls vom Arzt nicht anders verordnet, ist die übliche Dosis: Bei Vitamin-C-Mangel erhalten Erwachsene 500-1000 mg Ascorbinsäure pro Tag bis zum Abklingen der Symptome. Dies entspricht 1-2 Hartkapseln Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 pro Tag. Nehmen Sie die Hartkapseln bitte unzerkaut mit ausreichend Flüssigkeit ein. Wenn Sie eine größere Menge Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 eingenommen haben, als Sie sollten: Nach Einnahme zu hoher Arzneimengen kann Durchfall auftreten, begleitet von entsprechenden Magen-Darm-Beschwerden. Die Einnahme von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 wird dann unterbrochen. Andere Maßnahmen sind im allgemeinen nicht notwendig. Bei Schmerzen in der Nierengegend oder erschwertem Wasserlassen nach einer hohen Dosis von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 ist unverzüglich ein Arzt zu verständigen. Wenn Sie die Einnahme von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 vergessen haben: Nehmen Sie nicht die doppelte Dosis ein, wenn Sie die vorherige Einnahme vergessen haben.
Wenn Sie die Einnahme von Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 abbrechen: Eine Unterbrechung oder vorzeitige Beendigung der Behandlung ist in der Regel unbedenklich. Sonstige Hinweise: Frisches Obst und Gemüse haben einen bedarfsgerecht hohen Vitamin-C-Gehalt. Bei längerer Lagerung, insbesondere von Kartoffeln und Gemüse, kommt es jedoch zu unterschiedlich großen Vitamin-C-Verlusten. Denn ähnlich wie eine Zwiebel bestehen die Pellets aus sich abwechselnden Schichten von Vitamin C und einem langsamer löslichen Lebensmittelüberzug.
